Short version: your footage is yours and, by default, it never leaves your device.

What stays on your device

• Your footage, your projects, the transcripts and every edit.
• Your account details for the app are stored on the device.

When something leaves your device

• Cloud steps. If your device can't run a step — transcription on an older computer or a phone, or saving the video without a video engine — that step runs on our servers. For transcription we send the audio only, never the video. For saving a video we send the clips it uses. Files are deleted when the job finishes.
• Claude. When AI sorts your scenes or arranges your story, the transcript (text only) is sent to Anthropic's Claude — through your own Claude Code or key, or ours if you use the add-on.
• Updates. The app checks our update server for new versions.
• Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see your full card number.

• If you join the waitlist or contact us, we keep your email (and message) to reply and to tell you about Deflub. Unsubscribe any time.
