Your first video

• Install Deflub from the download page and create your account.
• Pick a plan — three videos for $9 is plenty to try it.
• Tap Pick footage (or drop clips onto the window) and choose everything you shot for this video.
• Give it a name and start. In about a minute the cut is ready: play it, and tap Save video.

Tips for footage that cuts well

• Say each line as a whole sentence. If you flub it, just start the sentence again — Deflub keeps the clean take.
• Chat between takes as much as you like; it's cut out. Pausing a second before each take helps.
• Film vertically, with your face in the upper half — the captions sit in the lower-middle, clear of TikTok's and Reels' buttons.
• A quiet room beats a better camera. Wind and music under the voice make it harder to hear.

Changing the cut

• A different take: open the scene and pick another take.
• A scene you don't want: switch it off. Chatter is switched off already — switch it on if Deflub got one wrong.
• A word the captions got wrong: tap it and type the fix.
• Caption style: Settings → Captions — box or colour highlight, size, height, how many words at once.

Common questions

• Where do my projects live? On your device, in Deflub's own folder. Your original footage stays where it was.
• It says the footage "isn't where it was". You moved or renamed the file. Tap Locate… and pick it again; everything you did stays.
• Which steps run in the cloud? Settings → Where the work happens lists each step and where it runs on your device.
• Another language? Settings → Spoken language, then re-analyse the project.
